The provincial government announced on Wednesday, Alberta will appoint a chief provincial firearms officer to better reflect Albertans needs amid a new federal gun ban.

RCMP said a gun collector returned to his house outside of Strothoaks, Sask., after being away for six weeks to discover the theft of the firearms.
