The tornado warning was issued Thursday afternoon for the city of Calgary, as well as the surrounding areas of Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds and Sundre, Okotoks, High River and Claresholm and was lifted less than one hour later.

Environment Canada issued the warnings at 9:54 p.m. MT Sunday night for Rocky View Co. near Chestermere Dalroy and Dalemead.

There were some tense moments for residents in Calgary after a tornado warning was issued Wednesday afternoon as funnel clouds were spotted over the city and parts of southern Alberta.
