Inspiring other young girls to create change is the motivation behind a new book co-authored by former Conservative MP Rona Ambrose and Jessica Humphries.

Teenage Indigenous water activist Autumn Peltier said she doesn't feel the country's federal politicians are focused enough on climate change, even after years of her campaigning for them to take action.

"I was already following in her footsteps and they thought it was best that they give the title to me because I'm carrying on her work," said Peltier.
