The comment comes after University of Calgary School of Public Policy report released on Thursday said the policy cannot be called a "reverse carbon tax."

In an effort to help residents with rising bills, the province has announced it will be removing the Alberta fuel tax at the pumps and will be providing an electricity rebate.
