One man rushed to hospital after serious multi-vehicle crash on Macleod Trail

A man was rushed to hospital after an early morning crash on Macleod Trail Saturday.

It happened just after 2 a.m. on Macleod Trail and 71 Ave. S.

Police say several cars were stopped at a red light when a pick-up truck smashed into them.

Crews on scene used the ‘jaws of life’ to rescue one man who was trapped inside a vehicle.

He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but his conditionwas later upgraded to stable.

Another person was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Investigators are still trying to determine if alcohol or speed played a role in the crash.
