TORONTO- Go Transit’s Lakeshore West line will be closed Saturday and Sunday as crews work to remove the Dufferin Street bridge.

Both buses and trains will not be operating on that line.

The repairs come on what could be a busy weekend downtown with the Buffalo Bills playing at the Rogers Centre on Sunday, along with two home games for the Toronto Raptors.

Go Transit has announced several changes in service for the weekend to help accommodate those heading to the downtown core.

Among the changes, there will be special train service on the Milton line all weekend and increasing bus service on the Hamilton to Toronto route.

On a statement on their website, Go Transit said all trains will be back up and running in time for the Monday morning commute.

Via Rail has also put out an advisory, warning commuters of several delays over the weekend that will be caused by the repairs.  In their statement, they say trains that normally go through Toronto will be detouring, causing a delay of up to an hour.
