ST. PIERRE-JOLYS, MB – A woman has been killed in a collision involving a CN Rail freight and a Toyota Yaris in southern Manitoba.
RCMP say the overnight crash happened at a controlled crossing near the junction of Highway 207 and the Trans-Canada Highway, southeast of Winnipeg.
Police say initial reports show that the lights and signal bells at the crossing were operating at the time of the collision with the eastbound train.
The woman was a 30-year-old resident of the Rural Municipality of Tache, but her name has not been released.
No one else was involved in the accident.
