REGINA – All the football fans headed home after the 101st Grey Cup may have set a record at Regina International Airport.

About 3,100 passengers flew out of YQR on Monday, the day after the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Hamilton Tiger Cats to capture the trophy.

“We think we set a record Monday with the passengers going outbound from the game,” said Jim Hunter, Regina Airport Authority president & CEO. “It’s probably the busiest day the airport has ever seen.”

Hunter says the number of outbound passengers was 400-500 more than any day in the last three years.
