The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a dump truck in the Pleasantview neighbourhood on the south side.
The crash happened Friday afternoon, just after 3 p.m., near 105th Street and 53rd Avenue.
Shortly after 3 p.m., police said the major collision unit was called to the crash.
It was reported to police that a pedestrian was heading south across 53rd Avenue at the intersection when a dump truck turning south onto 105th Street from the avenue hit him.
When officers arrived, they found a seriously injured man in his 50s. Paramedics arrived and attempted to save the man, but he died on scene.
The driver of the truck is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Police blocked off access to 105th Street between 51st Avenue and 56th Avenue, and on 53rd Avenue in both directions from 105th Street, while officers investigated.
