Oscar Fech is a general contractor best known for being one of city hall’s most avid watchers. He’s notorious for asking questions on virtually every item up for public hearing, a tendency he often brings beyond city hall. Some of his antics prompted city hall security to ban him for a year, and he’s only recently been able to attend meetings again.
He ran for mayor in 2001 and 2004, finishing far behind in each race.
He declared his candidacy by interrupting an Aug. 29 mayoral forum to say that he was running and should be part of the debate.
