Saskatchewan RCMP shut down significant grow-op near Grand Coulee

A Grand Coulee man is facing several charges after a drug bust late last week.

RCMP executed a search warrant on a garage in the Grand Coulee area Thursday afternoon and discovered a sophisticated marijuana grow operation. Approximately 428 cannabis marijuana plants were seized, along with equipment such as lights, timers and fans. A quantity of cash was also seized.

Oin Nicholson, 33, has been charged with cultivation of cannabis marijuana, possession with the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Nicholson is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on November 24th.

Grow operations can be set up almost anywhere. RCMP are asking the public to remain vigilant and to report anything suspicious.
