Investigators say the collision involved a vehicle driving erratically, changing lanes and crashing into slowing traffic ahead of it.

“That collision caused the vehicle to roll over several times contacting other vehicles,” said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.

“A total of four vehicles were involved in this collision.”

Paramedics told Global News five people were taken to hospital with four suffering from minor injuries.

A 32-year-old driver from Haldimand County was later pronounced dead.

The eastbound lanes shut down for several hours before reopening on Sunday morning.
