Waterloo regional police say they are continuing to investigate after a person was injured in Kitchener in connection to the weapons call announced on Twitter on Thursday morning.
Officers were dispatched to Ardelt Avenue at around 9:20 a.m. and soon arrived to find a 34-year-old man with facial injuries, according to police.
Paramedics took the man to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police say officers soon discovered that the man was injured during a fight with another man.
The suspect was said to be wearing a black Toronto Raptors jersey, shorts and a baseball cap and was last spotted heading in the direction of Homer Watson Boulevard.
In a tweet posted shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday, the service announced that there would be an increased police presence in the Ardelt Avenue area as police were conducting a weapon’s investigation.
