25-year-old man killed after ‘multiple gunshots fired’ in north Etobicoke: police

Toronto police say a 25-year-old man has died following a shooting in north Etobicoke on Wednesday night where “multiple gunshots were fired.”

Emergency crews were called to a townhouse complex near Martin Grove Road and Finch Avenue West at around 11:40 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Police said a the man was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The homicide unit has been called in to investigate, police said.

No suspect description was available but Toronto police Det. Sgt. Brandon Price told reporters a dark-coloured SUV was seen fleeing the complex parking lot.

“We can say that there’s some evidence here that the fleeing suspects vehicle will have some damage to it. Potentially a broken window,” Price said.

Price said multiple gunshots were fired.

He also said it was “extremely lucky” that no one else was struck but it’s “incredibly unfortunate for the family of our victim.”

Price said officers are canvassing the area for witnesses and video.
