The newest addition to the traditional family photo is known as Charlie, a chinchilla that was first introduced to Canadians on Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Twitter stream in January in a photo that featured Harper gazing down at the rodent at 24 Sussex Drive.
Harper is among many prominent politicians who continue to mail-out annual holiday greetings.
Below is a look at the Harper family Christmas cards over the years:
2011:
In 2011, the Harper family holiday card drew attention after remarks that it closely resembled the previous year’s holiday greeting card. The prime minister is seen wearing the same grey sweater and red and white shirt, while daughter Rachel and son Ben also appear to be wearing similar looking outfits and accessories.
Only the background appears different and Laureen Harper appears to have changed her attire.
