EDMONTON – Glowing after Tuesday night’s win, the Edmonton Oilers hoped to spread some joy visiting patients at several local hospitals on Wednesday.

It’s an annual event where the team spends the day at hospitals and rehabilitation centres in the Capital Region, meeting patients and interacting with fans. (Watch raw video of the visit below).

“She’s been looking forward to it for the past two days,” said Jocelyn Holkema of her young daughter Maddie. “As soon as she wakes up from any naps or after any treatment, she’s like ‘is it party time yet?’… It definitely gives her something to look forward to and keep her mind off things.”

“Her grandpa is a really big Oilers fan… She’s not sure exactly what’s going on, but she knows it’s a big deal.”
