Three people have been arrested for kidnapping and holding a man against his will, and RCMP are still looking for two others.
On Wednesday, November 13, the Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crimes Unit responded to a kidnapping complaint at a residence on Landing Drive.
“This incident was a targeted situation. The victim and accused were known to each other,” says Cpl. Len vanNieuwenhuizen. “The safety of the community at large was not in jeopardy by this incident.”

Following an investigation, three people, two men and a woman, were arrested. 25-year-old Richard Joseph Williams of Chilliwack has been charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of conveying a threat to cause death or bodily harm, and one count of unlawfully confining a person.
A 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both of Chilliwack, were arrested and released on a promise to appear on recommended charges of kidnapping, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Warrants for arrest have been issued for 31-year-old Jason Arthur Coombes and 30-year-old Raphael Charles Leon. Both have been charged with numerous criminal counts including conveying a threat to cause bodily harm or death, and unlawfully confining a person.
The Chilliwack RCMP is asking for help in apprehending Coombes and Leon. Anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts is asked to contact Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The public are cautioned not to approach either Coombes or Leon.
