Deklin’s Broadway credits include Sweet Smell of Success with John Lithgow and The Lion King. Some of his Off-Broadway credits include Macbeth, As You Like It, Six-Six-Sixty, Measure for Measure, Tallulah Hallelujah, The Alchemist and Home of the Brave. He has worked at regional theaters across the country, performing a wide range of roles in such plays as Othello, Hay Fever, Snakebit, An Ideal Husband, Romeo and Juliet, The Big Slam, Coriolanus, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Free Will & Wanton Lust, Troilus and Cressida, Born Yesterday and The Taming of the Shrew. Deklin can be seen in The Wish List opposite Jennifer Esposito. He played Samuel Clemens in the mini-series Riverworld and as the gothic magician “Mordor the Unforgiving” on Better Off Ted. Deklin’s recurring roles include Desperate Housewives, The Ex List, Shark and Justice. He also guest-starred on Life on Mars, Big Love, Nip/Tuck, Sex and the City, CSI: NY, Frasier, Las Vegas and CSI: Miami. Among his many commercial appearances, he is perhaps most recognizable as the environmentally friendly “Subaru Guy.”
Mark Deklin grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and received his Bachelor of Arts in English and History from Pennsylvania State. He moved to Seattle and earned his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington’s Professional Actor Training Program (as well as his union cards and a certification with the Society of American Fight Directors). He stayed on the West Coast for a few more years, working primarily in Seattle and San Francisco, and then moved to New York, where he continued to establish himself as an actor.
