KELOWNA — Local search and rescue crews were called into action Monday to deal with a stranded ATV’er.
The unidentified man called for help at around 3 p.m. when his ATV got stuck on Little White Mountain.
Officials say he was well equipped in case of an emergency.
“The ATV’er was able to call for help due to the fact he was very well equipped for the outdoors and was carrying not only a GPS but a Satellite phone as well,” says Duane Tresnich, Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.
An army of search and rescue crews responded to the call including the RCMP helicopter.
“AIR 3 was able to locate him and pick him up from a tricky spot close by to his ATV,” says Tresnich.
