All streets in Stratford, Ont., re-open after temporary closure

The City of Stratford, Ont., says its streets have re-opened to traffic after a massive snow storm hit the region.

In a tweet at around 7 a.m., on Saturday, the city said all of its streets are “temporarily closed” as a result of the storm.

Ontario Provincial Police said over 500 collisions have been reported as a result of the weather.

In an update at around 9:40 a.m., the city said it had consulted with Stratford police and had re-evaluated the situation.

The city said it would be lifting the temporary road closure for all city streets “effective immediatey.”

“We still strongly urge motorists to stay off the roads as much as possible,” the tweet read. “Stay safe.”
