The best weight loss program ever

I’ll start this item with an admission that shouldn’t surprise you at all namely, that I’m a typical Canadian male, so besides being in love with hockey and back bacon, I also find it quite hard to admit that I’ve erred, especially when it comes to medical information, and particularly information about lifestyle adjustments, although hey, the good thing is that I’ve rarely been wrong, so it’s not been any sort of issue for me.

But I recently ran across an item in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that has forced me to admit that I may have been wrong – sort of – when it comes to my very strong, regular-repeated advice that if you want to lose weight, there’s nothing more to it really than this four word-formula: eat less, move more.

But according to a study of 810 people who were trying to lose weight by calorie reduction, those who found it easiest to do so were those people who cut their calorie intake from beverages – they lost significantly more weight than those who just cut down on their food calories.

So, hey, want to lose weight?

Easy: move more, drink less.
