To celebrate their twentieth anniversary, Rudsak unveiled their collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week to a packed crowd of fashion insiders and Rudsak fans.

Rudsak was founded in Montreal in 1994 and its contemporary yet timeless pieces quickly made them a must-have in every Canadian woman’s closet. From coats and outerwear to footwear, handbags and accessories, Rudsak has expanded its empire but still believes in producing a quality product.

For his spring presentation, Evik Asatoorian, the creative force behind Rudsak, presented a collection where the rocker vibe was kicked into high gear. From the studded shoes and arm patches to the biker jackets, leather shorts and leggings – leather and black were king for Rudsak.

While black is back, the subtle touches of colour from soft yellow to cream offers a welcomed freshness for the spring season. My favourite looks included the unstructured leather vests. They ranged from solid and long in length, shorter in textured skins, to the fabulous sleeveless trench vest. It was all about the textures for Asatoorian, ranging from croc to python.

Neoprene jackets, sheer blouses and flowy tunics were shown paired with crisp white tuxedo pants or a skinny ankle length pants. The juxtaposition between clean, crisp and edgy made for an interesting mix. And let’s not forget about the shorts. In leather or a plainer fabric with a small trim on the waistband, the knee-length short is a must-own for spring.
