Officials called STARS Air Ambulance to fly to the scene, but they weren’t able to land because of heavy fog.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck was rushed to hospital in Calgary in serious, life threatening condition, but later died in hospital.

RCMP have not yet ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.

The name of the deceased has not been released.
