SASKATOON – A high profile lawyer has claimed the largest lottery jackpot prize ever won by a ticket purchased in Saskatoon.
Local attorney Donald Worme received a LOTTO 6/49 check for $14,797,843 on Wednesday.
He bought the $11 ticket from a Fas Gas in Saskatoon.

Worme opted for randomly-generated selections, which exactly matched the six winning numbers drawn in August.
It was a while after the draw before Worme heard the winning ticket was purchased in Saskatoon and checked the numbers with his son.
He has no intention to retire but instead plans to “super charge” his law firm.
“I’ve worked hard all of my career and purchased things that I have desired so I have the items that I have wanted… of course there might be something,” Worme said with a chuckle.
The second largest jackpot won by a Saskatoon ticket was in 2006 for $14.6 million.
