Man dead after van and motorcycle collide in northeast Calgary: EMS

A man in his 30s has died after a van collided with a motorcycle in northeast Calgary on Friday night, according to a spokesperson for EMS.

They said the collision occurred in the area of Stoney Trail and Country Hills Boulevard N.E. at about 8:15 p.m.

Police said a Dodge Caravan that was stopped at the intersection proceeded to turn west onto Country Hills Blvd. N.E. from the off-ramp of northbound Stoney Trail N.E., and collided with a motorcycle that was travelling in the westbound traffic lane of Country Hills Blvd.

EMS said the man on the motorcycle received medical attention but was then pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed is being investigated as a factor in the collision.
