UPDATE: Camrose police investigating baby’s death

EDMONTON – The death of a 16-month-old child is being investigated by the Camrose Police Service.

Medical staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose examined a 16-month-old child with “an undetermined life-threatening medical condition” on Oct. 16.

Police say the child was airlifted to the Stollery Children’s Hospital and died early on Oct. 17.

An autopsy was completed on Friday. Police say the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office “requires further assessment and analysis prior to determining the cause of death.”

The Camrose Police Service is keeping this file open and are helping the Medical Examiner’s Office while waiting for its decision.
