Abbotsford stabbing leaves one man dead: Police

Abbotsford police are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed Thursday afternoon.

Patrol officers responded to the scene in the 1900 block of McCallum Road at about 5:47 p.m, and found a man with life-threatening injuries.

He was brought to hospital, where he later died.

Homicide investigators said two suspects were arrested at the scene.

They also said the stabbing was an isolated incident as the parties both knew each other.

B.C.’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case.

“We’re working on establishing a motive for this sad incident,” IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said.

“This incident does not appear connected to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.”

IHIT has identified the victim but has not released the identity yet, out of respect for the family.
