EDMONTON- The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is asking for the public’s help with an alleged abduction that took place in the Beacon Heights neighbourhood Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to the area of 48th Street and 118th Avenue around 4:00 p.m., after a witness reported seeing a female being pushed into a pickup truck in a nearby alley.

“The passenger got out, forced the female into the pickup truck. The pickup truck then sped away from the area. That’s the amount of information that we know,” said Detective Anirudh Seoul with the EPS.

The victim is described as a Caucasian female in her mid-teens, tanned, with blonde hair and weighs about 100 pounds. Police say she was wearing a jacket and black yoga pants.

The driver of the pickup truck is described as a Caucasian male in his mid to late 20s. He was reportedly wearing a grey hoodie and a white baseball hat.

The passenger of the truck is described as an Aboriginal male in his late teens or early 20s with an unkempt appearance, and weighs about 200 pounds. Police say he was wearing a lumberjack-style jacket with blue and grey squares.

Police say they canvassed the neighbourhood Wednesday, speaking to residents. At this point, police say no one has been reported missing.

Police are now asking the public to be on the lookout for the truck the suspects were allegedly driving. It is described as a grey, single cab pickup truck, believed to be a 1960s or 70s model. The witness told police the truck was rusted around the rear wheel wells and had round-style headlights.

“Right now we don’t know whether this is an actual abduction or if the victim is known to the suspect,” Seoul explained. “So that’s why we need to locate this pickup truck.”

Anyone with information is being asked to call the EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers.
