A Kelowna cab driver was held-up Tuesday morning by a man who said he had a gun.

RCMP say the suspect was given a ride to the 400 block of Hein Road just after 2 a.m. when the man threatened the driver and demanded money.

The suspect ran off with a small amount of cash, but didn’t make it very far. A police dog tracked the suspect to a nearby residence.

A 21-year-old Kelowna man faces a charge of robbery. He has been released to appear in court in August.

He’s been banned from taking any taxi service until then.
