Red Bull Stratos, who sponsored his jump, released the multi-angle and mission data – complete with altitude and air speed – on Monday.

The 43-year-old Austrian is renowned for high-altitude jumps, but this was the highest done by anyone.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

His initial jump was supposed to be from 36,500 meters, but instead, it turned to almost 39,000 meters. He also reached a speed of of over 1300 km/h – that’s Mach 1.24.

His jump broke Joe Kittinger’s record-setting jump of 31,333 meters set in 1960. Baumgartner made his jump on the same day that Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in 1947.
