WINNIPEG — Mother Nature has been keeping Manitobans on their toes. Everything from recent record rainfall to early snow, the seasons are changing fast.
Some Winnipegers are hanging on to summer as long as they can.
Shooters Family Golf Centre has golfers trying to squeeze in as many rounds as possible before the end of the season. The enthusiasm is great for the business that got off to a slow start because of a longer winter.

“We opened the driving range about weeks later than usual,” said Amy Cerasani from Shooters. “The golf course was almost a month behind.”
The course is hoping for a couple more weeks of no snow to stay open.
Hardcore golfers are hitting the links while they still can.
“We’re hoping it lasts a little longer than this,” said one golfer. “We’re hoping we can go right to Halloween.”
From nicely maintained greens to icy cold creams — The Spotted Cow still has customers craving ice cream even though temperatures are starting to drop.
“Our register has this wonderful customer tally, so we have had well over 100 customers every day,” said Spotted Cow owner Orysia Ehrmantraut. “It really says that people want ice cream, it doesn’t matter what time of year it is.”
Hot-ticket items like ice cream cakes are still flying off the shelves, but the owner knows she will have to close for the season likely few weeks, but the more days the door stays open the better it is business.
