Halifax Regional Police say a scene outside an auto shop Thursday may have been related to an alleged shooting that occurred the day prior.
In a Friday afternoon release, police said that around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, a man was shot while inside a vehicle in Bedford, near Damascus Road.
The 34-year-old man suffered what police believe to be “non-life-threatening injuries” and was taken to hospital.
On Thursday afternoon, police had a section of the Burnside Industrial Park taped off as part of an investigation into a reported damaged vehicle.
Police officers and the forensic identification unit were at the corner of Wright and Haliburton avenues in Dartmouth.
Evidence markers were placed around a grey work truck in the parking lot of an auto repair shop.
A Global News reporter saw what appeared to be a bullet hole in the van’s front window. Police began clearing the scene just before 5 p.m. and did not provide further updates that day.
In the Friday update, Halifax police said an investigation determined the car was struck “as a result of shots fired in the area.”
Investigators said they believe the Wright Avenue incident and the Bedford incident may be related.
