Sgt. Darryl Little with the Kootenay Boundary Regional Detachment said on Saturday an RCMP dog handler searching in the Fostall area found a hat, which is believed to belong to Chun.
On Sunday, with Nakusp Search and Rescue and the RCMP Police Service Dogs, police found a man’s body in the bush. This discovery was made about 40 meters into the bush, and three kilometres down a road bisecting the road where hunters originally reported finding the van stuck in the mud.
Little said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body and foul play is not suspected.
The BC Coroners Service has now concluded that Mr. Chun died of natural causes.
