File / Global News

A suspect is now in custody after a shooting outside the Haney Public House in Maple Ridge early Sunday morning.

Two people — both bouncers at the bar — were hurt when shots were fired into a crowd of pub patrons at two in the morning.

Ridge Meadows RCMP have now arrested 25 year old Cody William McKenna.  McKenna, a Maple Ridge resident, is now charged with attempted murder, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, and firearms related offences.

“This type of incident is not a common occurrence in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows, and police have treated this file as a top priority since it happened,” said Corporal Alanna Dunlop. “Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit has been working tirelessly on this serious incident and it has resulted in the arrest of our prime suspect.  Police continue to investigate the shooting that occurred on Sunday September 29, 2013.  Two victims are still recovering from injuries.”
