Man found with serious injuries near Calgary’s SAIT LRT station

Calgary police are investigating after a man was rushed to Foothills hospital Wednesday morning in life-threatening condition. As Bindu Suri reports, police are dealing with two different crime scenes in the northwest – Apr 27, 2022

The SAIT LRT station was closed Wednesday morning after Calgary police said a man was found with a “possible” neck injury ​in the Hounsfield Heights and Briar Hill neighbourhood.

The Calgary Police Service confirms to Global News ​the situation unfolded around 5:27 a.m. ​where the man was found on the 1400 block of 14 Avenue N.W. Police added there was a “significant blood trail” that was found nearby.

EMS confirm the man was picked up from the LRT station and rushed to Foothills Hospital in life-threatening condition.

CPS confirms to Global News a man was found near the LRT station at 5:27 a.m. and was sent to hospital in serious condition.

CPS is canvassing the Hillhurst neighbourhood, hoping to find security camera footage as to what may have led to the man’s injuries.

As of 5:47 a.m., Calgary Transit said it won’t be stopping at the SAIT LRT station due to the police matter. The LRT station reopened early Wednesday afternoon.
