Mader sentenced for manslaughter

A Kelowna man has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Daniel James Mader was one of four men involved in the 2005 shooting, beating and dismemberment of 26-year-old Jody Elliott in an apparent contract killing.

Elliott was known for ripping off other Kelowna drug dealers and had made himself many enemies.

Mader will be out of prison in less than two years due to credit for time already served.
