Allan, SK man charged with uttering threats against three political figures

RCMP have charged a man from Allan with uttering threats of physical violence against three Canadian political figures including Premier Brad Wall.

Donald Lorenz, 68, appeared in provincial court in Saskatoon yesterday facing three counts of uttering threats. The threats were aimed at former Saskatchewan Party leader Elwin Hermanson, who is now Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Wall.

Lorenz made the alleged threats between June 2009 and Feb. 14. There was no direct contact between Lorenz and the named victims. The alleged threats were made over the phone through a third party.

The next court appearance for Lorenz will be Monday in Saskatoon Provincial court.
