Car smashes into north Edmonton restaurant

EDMONTON- The owner of a north Edmonton business has a lot of cleaning up to do, after a car crashed into their shop Sunday morning.

A grey sedan smashed through the front windows of New York Pizza & Donair, in the area of 118th Avenue and 97th Street around 9:30 a.m.

The building suffered rather extensive damage in the collision.

Police say the cause of the collision is still under investigation, but alcohol was ruled out as a factor.

“There was hardly any cars, no pedestrian traffic. Luckily the business wasn’t open so there was no injuries, no reported injuries at that time,” added Constable Rob Brown.
