The victims were silent for 10 years before coming forward. Van Voorthuizen was living in Greece at the time, and was extradited back to Canada.

He showed little emotion as the verdict was read in court on Friday afternoon. He was taken into police custody, and is scheduled to be sentenced on October 28.
