SALMON ARM — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its recall of Gort’s Gouda Cheese Products potentially contaminated with E. coli.

The recall now includes Gort’s Gouda Cheese Farm brand Mild Gouda Cheese.

“The affected product, Gort’s Gouda Cheese Farm brand Mild Gouda Cheese, was sold in packages of various sizes, bearing a red “Raw” sticker. It was sold at certain retail stores in British Columbia and through Internet sales from May 27 to September 14, 2013″ according to a CFIA release issued Thursday.

“Lot codes 122 to 138 are affected by this recall.”

The CFIA says not all packages bear the lot code and consumers may have bought the cheese over the counter from deli-clerks without a label or coding.
