Two dead, two injured after collision near Redwater

EDMONTON- Two young men are dead and two others are injured, after a single vehicle collision near Redwater Saturday morning.

RCMP were called to a collision on Secondary Highway 827 near Highway 28, northeast of Redwater, around 3:00 a.m.

Police say a 2000 Ford Taurus left the highway, rolled and hit a power pole.

The male driver of the car- a man in his early 20s- and a 19-year-old male passenger were killed in the collision. RCMP say one of the men was from Thorhild County; the other was from the Waskatenau area.

Two other male passengers were taken to the Redwater hospital where they were treated and released with minor injuries.

RCMP say alcohol was a factor in the collision.

The victim’s names are not being released at this time.
