A cyclist is dead after being hit by a semi-truck at Sprott Street and Norland Avenue in Burnaby Tuesday afternoon.
51-year-old Port Moody resident Andrew Evoy was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.
Sprott Street from Norland to Kensington, including an entrance to Highway 1 was closed for a few hours.
RCMP say the area is currently under heavy road construction.
Collision investigators were also on scene. Anyone who may have witnessed the actions of the truck driver or the cyclist is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922..
