Named by his grandfather for “Spirit” or “Silent Friend” in the language of Blackfeet Indians, Mykelti Williamson has built a reputation as one of the most consistent actors in the business, delivering stirring and honest performances that capture audiences.
Born in St. Louis, Williamson began performing on stage at age nine. Soon after, his family moved to California where he continued his education, eventually graduating from the Gene Evans Motion Picture School in San Jose, California. Later, Williamson began working professionally, appearing on several television shows.
