Edmonton – A 22-year-old man has died following a collision north of Sherwood Park Thursday morning.

The victim was driving on a motorcycle north on Range Road 232 when he collided with a pick-up truck that was heading in the opposite direction.

Investigators say it appears the truck driver was attempting to make a left-hand turn and turned into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

STARS Air Ambulance flew the motorcyclist to an Edmonton hospital where he later died. The RCMP says the victim was an Edmonton resident, but his identity has not been released.

The driver of the truck wasn’t injured.

An RCMP Collision Analyst and the Strathcona County RCMP are investigating the crash, but speed and alcohol aren’t believed to be factors.
