Conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 100 km/h, large hail and heavy rain.

The watch — calling for rainfall amounts in the 30 to 50 mm range — was in place for London, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komoka, and parts of Middlesex County.

At one point Thursday morning, Environment Canada had issued a thunderstorm warning as they were tracking a system west of London.

As forecasters expected, the system cleared out of the area by Thursday afternoon.
