Ship’s wheel stolen from Paddlewheel Princess

Winnipeg police are looking for help finding thieves who stole the steering wheel from a river tour boat.

OFficers say someone boarded the Paddlewheel Princess at the Redwood Docks sometime on Aug. 22 or 23, entered the wheelhouse and stole the ship’s wheel, which is used to steer the vessel.

“The wheel is described as: Large wooden spiked steering wheel. Typically used for large boats/ships,” police said in a news release.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident or the whereabouts of this unique item is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).”
