Portion of downtown Kitchener closed after gas line breaks: police

A number of roads have been closed in downtown Kitchener as a result of a gas line break, Waterloo Regional Police announced on Twitter shortly before 10 a.m. on Thursday.

They said the intersections of Queen and Duke streets, Weber and Queen streets, Duke and Scott streets, Weber and Scott streets, King and Frederick streets, and Weber and Frederick streets were all closed throughout a large portion of the day.

At around, 3:30 p.m. a police spokesperson confirmed to Global News that the repair had been made and downtown Kitchener had reopened.
