VERNON — The name of the man who died in an incident at a Vernon facility for dementia patients has now been released.
William George May, 85, died from his injuries after an assault at the Polson Extended Care home Sunday night.

May was a long time resident of Vernon and his family asked police to release his name. His roommate, 95 year old John Furman, is accused of second degree murder.
The decorated World War II veteran has advanced dementia, and is having his mental state assessed by experts to determine if the charge will proceed.
