New this year, Dueling Pianos is a nod to the Las Vegas show at New York New York where patrons can bid on favourite songs and request numbers they want to hear.

Creative Director of the PNE, Patrick Roberge, said this is the first year they have had an opportunity to try the show.

“People come to the Fair and they want to have fun right away.”

The most popular requests so far are Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and anything by Billy Joel.

“I think this is going to catch at the Fair,” said Roberge. “People look for the traditions, but they also want the new stuff. It’s a really delicate balance.”

“With an event that’s been going on for 103 years you have to respect those traditions,” he added.
