Regina crime spree results in 222 charges

REGINA – Four people are facing a total of 222 charges following a late-night crime spree in Regina.

It all started just before 11:00 p.m. Monday night when a teen was shot in the leg on the 900 block of Montague Street. Police say a car – described as a black Dodge Charger – pulled up beside the teen, and after a short conversation he was shot and the vehicle drove off.

The same vehicle was spotted at the scene of three robberies within the next two hours. Police say the robberies happened at the Jolly Roger off sale, the Quance Street 7-Eleven and the south Travelodge. They all involved firearms.

Police located the vehicle a short time later and four people were taken into custody. Among the items seized at the time of the arrests were a rifle, two zip guns, ammunition, spent ammunition casings, alcohol and cash.

Now, three adults and one youth are facing a litany of charges, including attempted murder, robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of stolen property, and numerous firearms-related charges.

18-year-old Julius Charles Bird, 22-year-old Justin Lorne Peigan, and 23-year-old Krytsal Margaret Fesser are all due to appear in court tomorrow.

A 17-year-old male youth, who cannot be named, is also due to appear in youth court tomorrow.
